Masterbatch

To manufacture garments, master batch has to go from spinning, weaving, bleaching and dyeing to washing. Not only will functional additives make the whole process more complicated, it will also limit the wash-fastness of the treated textile article.

In order to make manufacturing process easier and the functional textile more durable, Hansk New Materials will start launching its master batch products in 2017-2018. The aim of the project is to incorporate anti-insect, anti-microbial or other desired properties into the master batch.

During traditional textile manufacturing, functional additives are normally added during the dyeing or curing stage, known as post-treatment. Functional master batch will move the value-adding process prior to spinning, known as pre-treatment, making the added functions more stable and durable.
